What exactly is Art Therapy?

Art therapy isn’t always pretty. It’s meaningful, powerful & therapeutic. This is the practice of art as therapy, it is beneficial to ANYONE from ANY background. Art gives people a communication tool & confidence. The art brings up things (sometimes) uncounciously & allows the patient to discover & grow form their own experiences, feelings & thoughts. Ultimately making the patient more conscious & mindful of their feelings, stressors etc. The creative process enhances brain functioning & allievates depression. This process also allows for intellectual & mental growth because recognizing these emotions from the art allows an individual to expand their knowledge and abilities. Art allows people to welcome their emotions rather than just tolerate them. A licensed art therapist will determine the appropriate materials and art directive depending on each individual patient. Art Therapy builds a healthy relationship with ones self & relationships with others🌞
